Deputy Iranian Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Seyyed Abbas Araghchi is scheduled to travel to the Swiss capital in order to address the 34th session of the Human Rights Council.
Araghchi is slated to represent Iran in a meeting of high-ranking officials to be held on Wednesday and will present the country’s stances.
The Human Rights Council is an inter-governmental body within the United Nations system made up of 47 States responsible for the promotion and protection of all human rights around the globe.
The Council opened its thirty-fourth regular session on Monday morning hearing an address by António Guterres, the United Nations Secretary-General, who stressed the important role of the Human Rights Council in addressing the disregard for human rights worldwide.
